"Chiropractic Chose Me"
I was introduced to chiropractic care in 1999. It was a hip condition from birth that brought me to the profession and it was my fascination with the structure of the human body and how it relates to function and well being that kept me here. Chiropractic care not only relieved my discomfort but the care and tools provided to me, helped to increase my range of motion, balance my muscles and restore proper function to my nervous system. I have learned very quickly that the human body has an incredible inborn ability to heal, if given the conditions it needs to do so.
I graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College cum laude and with clinic honours in 2006. This was after completing a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in neuroscience, at theUniversity ofToronto in 2002. Education has always been important to me as I strive to stay up to date on all the current health, wellness and chiropractic literature. I am currently taking a Fellowship/Post-graduate degree in Pediatric and Pre/Post-Natal Care with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I am also certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. This is a technique that facilitates proper pelvic balance during pregnancy. In addition, I am certified in level I craniosacral therapy which is a gentle method of detection and correction of imbalances in the craniosacral system. Imbalances in this system can be the cause of sensory, motor or neurological dysfunction throughout the body.
I am constantly updating my skills through courses in various chiropractic and manual therapy techniques to be able to provide a variety of treatment options for the diversity of conditions and patients that enter my practice. Therefore, I use an assortment of techniques in my practice to achieve the best possible results. Treatment may include drop piece assisted manual therapy, diversified chiropractic technique, craniosacral therapy, soft tissue therapy and exercise strategies, to name a few, as well as prescription of foot orthotics. My treatment approach involves addressing the entire neuromusculoskeletal system. The human body is a highly connected structure. It is my philosophy that assessing the whole body is essential for correcting the root of many conditions.
I emphasize chiropractic care as a lifelong process with benefits starting in pregnancy and continuing through the senior years. I strive to create a family practice which is diverse in nature. It ranges from treating specific ailments such as sports injuries, sciatica, repetitive strain disorders, headaches, neck and low back pain to working with individuals on their posture, body mechanics, alignment and balance. I truly enjoy Chiropractic's natural and hands-on approach to healing and I take pleasure in observing the benefits my patients' experience.
